1940's - A PROMISING COMMERCIAL ARTIST

Gladys graduated from the American Academy Art School to become an pen and ink based illustrator creating small illustrations that were referred to at that time period as ´cuts´ or what was later to become known as clip art.



Gladys Becker in her 20´s before ´her´ car.


She became very good at rendering the human figure by drawing literally thousands of portraits of service personel in pastels at the USO on the mezzanine of Chicago´s famous Auditorium Theater building during all of WW2. She used to say that after the war that her works of art were displayed all of the world.
